Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Program

The CHHA program is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing compassionate, hands-on care to patients in their homes. This state-approved course prepares you to assist patients with daily living activities, monitor health changes, and provide essential support under the supervision of a licensed nurse or healthcare professional.

Mandatory Training Hours (76 hours total)

The CHHA certification course includes:

  • 60 hours of classroom instruction covering essential topics such as patient care, safety, infection control, nutrition, and communication skills.

  • 16 hours of hands-on clinical training, completed in a real-world care setting under licensed supervision.

Training materials and guidelines will be provided upon registration. Students must complete all training hours to qualify for certification.

The CHHA course covers:

  • Basic patient care and hygiene

  • Understanding and following care plans
  • Taking vital signs

  • Communication skills with patients and families

  • Infection control and safety procedures

  • Nutrition and meal preparation

  • Recognizing emergencies and reporting changes

  • Caring for patients with dementia and chronic illness
